Timbaland made an appearance at SXSW’s Fader Fort last night after his protégé Tink did a cover of the Aaliyah (perhaps Timbaland’s most famous collaborator) classic “One In A Million.” After speaking about the duo’s work together on Tink’s studio debut for months, Timbaland used his time onstage to share a more unlikely endorsement.
Singing Tink’s praises, Timbaland told the Fader Fort crowd, “I don’t touch any of my sister’s records. I don’t touch Baby Girl’s records—you know that’s Aaliyah. She spoke to me in my sleep and said, ‘She’s the one.’”
