Unless you know all the lyrics to Solange’s song “Some Things Never Seem To Fucking Work” you might not even notice that this song by Kindness is a cover. The slowed down tempo in addition to the production on this version is so different from the original song that your brain probably wouldn’t make the connection, at least not right away.
However, that is the beauty of a well done cover. Kindness, aka Adam Bainbridge, transformed this song into his own. Yet, even through the drastic transformation of his stripped down version, Bainbridge was able to keep the essence of the song alive—the emotion within the lyrics.
