Listen to "Hey QT," SOPHIE and A.G. Cook's Debut Single as QT

None

Last week we reported that SOPHIE and PC Music founder A.G. Cook were teaming up as QT and shared a short snippet of their debut single “Hey QT.” Today, after having performed a brief set at Hudson Mohawke’s giant Boiler Room session in L.A. over the weekend, we have the full version of the song, shared with the following message:

So what, or who, is QT? She’s a sparkling future pop sensation – albeit one who is set to warp and stretch the notion of what a pop star actually is. It’s a drink, or more precisely a brand new Energy Elixir (“where organic and synthetic meet to stimulate an uplifting club sensation”). And it’s a song, a moment – “Hey QT” – which sees these two producers pushing their sound to its very extreme and creating a future anthem in the process.

Not long ago, SOPHIE—and to an even greater extent A.G. Cook—were well and truly working on the fringes. After the surprising summer success of “Bipp” and “Elle” last year, and with an album on the way for independent electronic label Numbers, SOPHIE was already on the rise in 2014, but with the seemingly unstoppable XL Recordings behind this joint project, we would not bet against QT, A.G. Cook, and the whole PC Music aesthetic becoming inescapable in the not too distant future.

Listen to “Hey QT” below and buy it from Beatport here.

If you hate the song, and are wondering why we’d even give it the time of day, read this.

UPDATE: Watch QT’s brief debut live performance and a full SOPHIE DJ set at the Ray Ban x Boiler Room event in LA.
