What better way to start (or continue, or end) your Sunday than with a high-pitched vocal sample telling you “I can make you feel better, if you let me!” while sparkling synths shoot across a rubbery bassline like unruly fireworks. “Bipp,” by mysterious British producer Sophie, is out now on Numbers, an ever reliable source of forward thinking dance music (Rustie, Hudson Mohawke, Mosca, Jamie xx etc), and combines some of the full-on maximalism of Rustie’s production with the hard-edged futurism associated with Night Slugs affiliated producers like Bok Bok L-Vis 1990.
