GEMS - "All I Ever"

1.

Washington, DC duo GEMS understands the components of successful dream pop perfectly. “All I Ever” is ripe with warm, loose texture and reverb–the sounds of memories as interpreted by instruments and studio tricks. The track features aching performances from singers Clifford John Usher and Lindsay Pitts. A gently insistent beat grounds it all, never overwhelming as it pushes onward. The ingredients are familiar, but the final product is executed with enough care that “All I Ever” resonates. It may not be the most original take on the genre, but it certainly is pretty.
