“Sunshine,” eh? Surely a remix of a song called “Sunshine” will be bright and cheery like a nice spring day. Wait a minute…”Shlohmo Remix.” Ah, I see–this is the sort of sunshine that comes for an hour a day in the winter in a country near the arctic circle. This is frozen sun.
As always, Shlohmo‘s spin on a song is gorgeously chilly, stripping away the glittery, uptempo minimalism of Little Dragon‘s original for dense layers of otherworldly synths, clattering drums, and just the right amount of bass. Check “Sunshine” below.
