After the exhilarating “Sheep and Wolf” from a few weeks back, Brooklyn-born rapper N.A. drops of “The Reign That Never Falls, which continues the trend of ambitious production (again provided by Josh Estes) and sharp rapping.
Like “Sheep,” “Reign” gives off a propulsive energy, buoyed along by N.A.’s performance and the suitably grandiose and constantly shifting Estes beat. Always nice to hear songs that also go that extra mile and play with typical format–here in the format of an extended piano coda that plays the song out of its preceding epic aspirations.
