Wax. The guy is sick with words, as evidenced by his many YouTube freestyles (like this one). I’ve never really been able to get into his music besides that. Even with this tape, I’m a little hesitant to even check it out. Scrublife? The title alone makes me cringe a little, then I look at the cover. I don’t know. I’m gonna give it a shot.
Underground buzzmaker Wax has hooked up with DJBooth.net and RefinedHype.com to bring fans his latest street release, the highly-anticipated Scrublife mixtape. Hosted by DJ Skee, the project features 16 brand new joints from the DMV native, including reader-acclaimed leaks “Red,” “Music and Liquor” and “Mary.” Collaborating with Wax throughout Scrublife are fellow up-and-comers Herbal T and Dumbfoundead. Along with beats by the artist himself, the project features guest boardwork by EOM, The Fyre Dept., Dale Firebird, Finatik & Zak and Jim Jonsin.
