A couple of weeks ago, we decided it was time to hammer a nail in the coffin of the “is grime dead?” debate by listing 22 MCs taking the sound into the future.

One of the MCs we profiled was Renz, the South Londoner taking Channel U-era grime energy and jetting into the 2020s. Now, after priming us with solo singles like “Active”, “Bit Of Me”, and “Readies”, as well as team-ups with allies like Duppy, Squintz and Cadell, he’s just released his debut project: WhoopDiDiDooTape

“Being my debut project, it actually means a lot and I know I made you wait for a good sec,” Renz said in an Instagram post. “Literal blood, sweat and tears to make this one happen, so big up to everyone who played a part in this and large up to everyone who’s supported me over the years.”
