Three years after their last team-up, Post Malone and Roddy Ricch are back on wax together.

Posty premiered his new single “Cooped Up” featuring Roddy on Thursday. During an Apple Music 1 conversation with Zane Lowe, Malone spoke on his fourth studio album Twelve Carat Toothache, set to be released on June 3, as well as what it was like working with Roddy.

“He’s just such an incredible man and just a natural performer and vocalist and lyricist,” Post said of Ricch. “And he just gets after it, and it’s so cool. Dude, and just to watch him grow. And he’s such a beautiful, beautiful man. And so talented, man. I’m so pumped.”

The new track, which sees Roddy slide on a verse where he salutes Post for taking him on his “first damn tour date,” follows the duo linking in 2019 for a remix of “Wow” alongside Tyga. The track was featured on the LP Hollywood’s Bleeding, which included the singles “Sunflower”—produced, like “Cooped Up,” by Louis Bell, who’s been working with Malone since his debut mixtape six years ago—and “Circles.” Twelve Carat Toothache’s lead single “One Right Now” featuring the Weeknd came at the tail end of 2021, marking the first time they worked together.

As for what the album means to him, Malone said absolute honesty is key. “That’s what the whole record is about. It’s the bipolar aspect and the duality of everything,” he told Lowe. “And so, there’s a lot of things very much on this record that are tongue in cheek. And I think this whole record is the most honest record I’ve made, and I’m so pumped for people to hear it. But every song in there tells a story, so this is kind of like, “Here’s the life that we live, but there’s always something going on in the background.”
