British R&B star Mahalia has returned with new music, and we’re here for every second of it.
Back in February, the Leicester native blessed us with the Rico Nasty-assisted “Jealous” (Belly-inspired visuals to boot), and in July, she gave us a trip down memory lane with her Montell Jordan-sampling jam, “Whenever You’re Ready”. Now she’s back with another one, this time teaming up with UK rapper AJ Tracey for new single “Roadside”.
Produced by The Elements, Mahalia flips the R&B heartbreak script by retooling the track into a hard-hitting ode to emotional resilience. AJ Tracey is a welcome addition to the song, assuming the role of the ex-boyfriend as he fires off nonchalant bars over the Latin-pop instrumental.
