Latto has dropped off a new freestyle over “Smoking on My Ex Pack,” a standout cut from SZA’s latest album SOS.
The track arrives alongside a music video courtesy of Caleb Jermale, Jonny Raw, and Ciardi Franklin, which sees Latto recording the freestyle in a studio session.
“This n***a did me foul, he got me losing weight/Tried to go big and now he losing faith/I done seen hoes come and go, so I ain’t never fazed/Better ask my last n***a, ain’t a bitch can take my place,” Latto raps over Jay Versace’s sped-up sample of Webster Lewis’ 1981 classic “Open Up Your Eyes.”
Latto’s freestyle has already earned praise from SZA, who hopped in the comments section on Instagram to express her excitement.
“OH ITS UPPPPPP,” SZA wrote alongside a heart eyes emoji.
“Smoking On My Ex Pack (Freestyle)” arrives on the heels of Latto’s latest single “FTCU.”
Last March, the Columbus, Ohio rapper unleashed her sophomore studio album 777. The project spanned 13 tracks, featuring singles like “Big Energy” and “Wheelie.” 777 peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 chart and boasted guest appearances by Lil Wayne, Childish Gambino, Lil Durk, and Kodak Black.
