Fresh off of campaigns for Xbox and Gucci, MOBO-nominated rapper and poet Kojey Radical has released his new single, “Gangsta”.

Produced by Ed Thomas, Jay Weathers, KZ and Swindle, the track features weighty, insightful lyrical sonnets from the East London native. Like many of hip-hop’s storytelling greats before him, Radical uses “Gangsta” to show love to the special women in his life over shimmering jazz horns and mellow piano cues.

Speaking about the new track, he said: “Any time I come to a sense of reasoning or a sense of self, it’s normally because of the advice or presence of women around me, whether that’s my mum, my sisters or the mother to my son. This song is a celebration of those women and an appreciation of everything they’ve been through. For me, their ability to persevere through everything is the definition of what a gangster actually is.”

Following the Lex Amor-assisted “War Outside”, Kojey Radical continues to get us excited for the upcoming, as-yet-untitled album with this one. While we wait for more news on the album, press play on “Gangsta” above and be sure to add the song to your playlists.
