Kay Flock’s attorney, Scott Leemon confirmed in a statement, that the rapper has been arrested for his alleged connection in the murder of a 24-year-old who was shot and killed outside a Harlem barbershop last week.

According to an alleged wanted poster issued by the New York City Police Department for 18-year-old Kevin Perez, it states, “On December 16, 2021, at approximately 9:53 the above pictured individual also known as Kay Flock did discharge a 9mm firearm at the victim causing the victim’s demise in front of 1836 Amsterdam Avenue in New York, NY, in the confines of the 30th precinct.”

Police continued, “The above pictured perpetrator has previous gun charges and should be considered armed and dangerous. The perpetrator is a known Thirdside Gang member.”

The NYPD’s 30th Precinct took to Twitter Thursday night to announce Perez’s arrest, writing, “UPDATE: As a result of the outstanding work by your 30th Precinct Detectives, along with the support of many other Investigators & some of our law enforcement partners, the individual responsible for this crime is now in custody.”

According to OnSmash, police described the incident, saying, “Hernandez was sitting in a barber shop on Amsterdam Ave. at W. 151st St. shortly before 10 a.m., waiting to get a haircut. Perez [Kay Flock] walked by, opened the shop door, and asked Hernandez what he was looking at. Hernandez then stepped outside to confront him, police said. The two argued, and Perez started to walk away. But the teen pulled a gun and shot Hernandez in the neck and back.”

In Leemon’s statement, he confirmed Perez’s arrest was after a self-surrender. Further, his team would be conducting an independent investigation after demanding the surveillance footage from the incident.

Perez is currently waited arraignment Thursday in Manhattan Criminal Court.
