According to TMZ, West’s ranch, located just outside of Cody, Wyoming, recently appeared on the property market listed at $11 million. West initially purchased the property, known as Monster Lake, for around $8 million before buying a second plot of land in the state for $14.5 million, according to the New York Post. The 4,500-acre Monster Lake property comes equipped with eight lodging units, two freshwater lakes, a restaurant, an event center, meeting facilities, and barns. The ranch is most notably known for being the birthplace of Kanye’s 2018 album Ye, and where he invited several artists, influencers, and members of the press to listen to the project for the first time.
The Wyoming property was also reportedly a topic of contention between West and estranged wife Kim Kardashian, who filed for a divorce with the rapper in February. West also recently spent $57.3 million on a 4,000-square-foot beach house in Malibu, California at the end of September.
Dirt reported that Kanye’s $57.3 million purchase was actually a steal because the house was first listed for $75 million last year. The rapper’s purchase is the second-highest number paid for a home in Malibu this year, following a $87 million transaction recorded in February. The house is also located about 30 minutes from West and Kardashian’s Hidden Hills compound, which the couple bought in 2014 for $20 million.
