Fast-rising Ghanaian star Black Sherif is back with his brand new single, “Soja”. After taking the world by storm earlier this year with viral hit “Kwaku The Traveller”—which racked up over 18 million streams on Spotify alone, and was the most Shazamed song globally at one point—the rapper/singer returns to prove why so many were right to say he’s up next.
“Soja” is a spirit-lifting number, but also one that sees Black Sherif declare he’s ready for life’s battles and whatever may come his way. He shows commendable vulnerability by speaking up about mental health issues, such as anxiety, and his inferiority complex. And, as always, the vocals are incredibly raw and emotive, adding weight and real depth to the song.
