The world of hip-hop heard a lot from Kanye West Thursday during his appearance on Drink Champs, when the creative explained that he owed fellow Roc-A-Fella alum Beanie Sigel for coming up with the “Yeezy” nickname.

Now it looks like we found out just how much Ye was thinking of paying the rapper when he explained the situation to Champs hosts N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN.

Beanie appeared in his hometown of Philadelphia over the weekend, telling onlookers in a new video that Yeezy  promised $50 million for coining the now-iconic term – saying he was going to pay him some how, some way.

“I got a phone call from the muthafucka the other day. He said Sig gon’ get $50 million and a five percent stock in Yeezy,” Beanie said in a video. “And I don’t know if n***as know, Yeezy’s did $1.7 billion last year.”

The Yeezy brand and its deals with Gap and Adidas have brought Kanye to his richest, as the artist now sits with a $1.8 billion Forbes-estimated networth.

As he explained to the Drink Champs crew, he can’t keep it all to himself and his travel-sized backpack homes. Beanie—who “embraced” him and let him wear a State Property chain back in the day—should be getting a piece of the pie.

“I still owe Beanie money and I’ve been trying to give him this money for a minute,” he said. “I’m like, ‘This man made up the name.’ It’s like the lady who made the Nike swoosh, Phil Knight made sure she was straight.”

Beanie saw a good side of Ye during the interview, but the same can’t be said for some other former West collaborators like Big Sean and John Legend, who Ye called out on the episode. See how those mentioned in the interview responded here
