With summer festival season peaking and our personal lists of coulda/shoulda/wouldas getting longer right alongside our list of been there/done thats, we'd like to take a minute to recognize the festivals that might get lost in the shuffle. If you're on the west coast, you know Outside Lands is coming up August 9-August 11, with a stellar, eclectic line-up that most music fans can't ignore. But if you weren't in the mood to pay the extra $200 surcharge because names like Sir Paul McCartney, Nine Inch Nails, Kaskade, Young The Giant, and all those other bands that you could DEFINITELY miss are on the ticket, then let's talk Palm Springs on that exact same weekend.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, baby birds: Disco never died, and that smooth summer vibe with bouncy synths to spare is available at this year's Splash House in the undeniable Palm Springs, CA. Want to know what else? Tickets are cheap, available, and can be bundled with hotel deals at the best spots in the area. Want to know what ELSE? Keep reading. Because we're bringing you 10 things you didn't know about this festival before you're too late, tickets are gone, and you're spending another weekend going deep into seasons of 30 Rock on Netflix.

It’s in Palm Springs, in the middle of summer, at three hotel pools

Nuff said? Hopefully not. Because as epic as this sounds, we've got more for you.

The coolest hotels are hosting the parties

One of the hotels (Saguaro) was included on the 2013 Conde Nast Traveler’s "Hot List." Another hotel (Caliente Tropics) was once frequented by the Rat Pack & Elvis Presley. A third one (The Curve) was the scene of the legendary "Palm Springs Spring Break" days through the '80s.

Splash House is the first multi-venue pool party/music festival ever

Outside of the Roman bath-house orgies that David Guetta used to DJ in his teenage years (read: he old) this is the first pool party to hit multiple venues - and it's right in your backyard.

Plus, they're next door to each other

The three hotels are all located within blocks of each other, creating one seamless party. Oh, and the shuttle between pools? It's included in your ticket. Sorry taxis and DUI lawyers.

The talent and partners are ON POINT

Splash House partnered with LED, Pacific Festival, and Private Label to bring you one of the largest collections of house and nu disco artists ever assembled on one lineup.

Show me a lineup with more disco/house talent and I'll show you my surprised blogger face.

You can party with the performers

All of the artists are staying at the venue hotels, so you’ll have a chance to party with your favorite performers. It's like Holy Ship!...........except it's not going to crash.

Butts on butts

During the "Just Say No" craze of the 1980s, Palm Springs outlawed thong bikinis. We’ll be testing out that enforcement…

Pool view rooms are available, and probably your best bet

If you get a pool view room, you’ll have the choice of partying from your balcony or mixing it up with the crowd below. You also have the option of using the line, "Want to come see the view from my room?"

98.47% success rate on that one.

Shuttles run all night

Splash Shuttles will continue into downtown at night, giving you plenty of opportunities for after parties and crashing the endless bachelorette party that is Palm Springs.

There are only 2,000 tickets available

Splash House is capped at 2,000 people, guaranteeing a fun but stress free music festival. So get your tickets now, ya bish!
