The Tonight Show has the distinct tendency to be almost entirely unwatchable, save (of course) for the incomparable Roots crew. On occasion, however, the watchability increases greatly with the addition of the perfect musical guest a la Rae Sremmurd.
Wednesday night, Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi stopped by the show for a nicely themed take on the SR3MM Disc 2 single "Guatemala." The track, technically a Swae Lee solo cut featuring Slim Jxmmi, recently got the official video treatment via Ear Drummer Films and Guerilla Hollywood. As an intro message for the video explains, the footage was taken roughly a month before the region was struck by a devastating eruption. In the wake of that disaster, Interscope donated $10,000 to the American Red Cross for relief assistance on behalf of the Sremmurd duo and EarDruma.
Speaking with GQ back in June about SR3MM ambitions and the continued legacy of their SremmLife 2 single "Black Beatles," Swae Lee reckoned they deserved both a Grammy and a Nobel Peace Prize for "making everything freeze for a moment in time." The modern classic, alongside other beloved Sremmurd cuts, will surely be getting one hell of an update on the duo's upcoming run with Childish Gambino tour. The shows, Lee recently posited, should also result in a collaboration.
For now, please enjoy this clip of Swae Lee and Kermit getting astronomically blazed together:
