According to the latest report on the ongoing ASAP Rocky x Sweden case, a request for more time to investigate has been put forth by the prosecution.

BBC Newssaid early Friday that prosecutor Daniel Suneson is asking for an extension that would run until next Thursday, July 25.

"We have worked intensively with the investigation and need more time, until Thursday next week in order to complete the preliminary investigation," Suneson said in a statement excerpted in the latest report.

This latest update comes on the same day as Rocky's expected detention hearing, as well as mere hours after Kim Kardashian thanked the White House for alleged assistance in efforts to free Rocky, though exactly what this administration can do with regards to an incident in Sweden remains a heated source of contention. Some have argued, for example, that such news stories highlighting any White House connection to freedom efforts merely mark the latest attempt to garner good press for the administration.

Thank you @realDonaldTrump , @SecPompeo, Jared Kushner & everyone involved with the efforts to Free ASAP Rocky & his two friends. Your commitment to justice reform is so appreciated 🙏🏼🤞🏼 https://t.co/Ym1Rzo5Z6c
