Fellow Purpose heads have been on quite the rollercoaster following this weekend's onstage "album coming soon" confirmation from Justin Bieber himself. Now, thanks to a subsequent report from TMZ, the hype is leveling off a bit.
Though Bieber's exact definition of "soon" was always up for debate, the report goes even further, alleging that a new album from Bieber is "about another year" away from a feasible release. Bieber is reportedly in the middle of writing and recording and is said to be in a "centered" frame of mind.
Though a "few" songs are said to be in the can, Bieber's apparently still focused on crafting a new sound for this chapter. His weekend Coachella announcement of an "album coming soon," the report claims, was premature and merely the result of getting lost in the surprise moment during headliner Ariana Grande's set.
Still, anything could happen. These are merely reports of the usual nature, not to mention the fact that Bieber initially expressed a different approach to the post-Purpose creative process in a comeback interview earlier this year.
"Just thinking about music stresses me out," Bieber, in a February cover story interview for Vogue alongside Hailey Baldwin, said of his fall 2018 decision to temporarily "step back" from music. "I've been successful since I was 13, so I didn't really have a chance to find who I was apart from what I did."
