A jail phone call allegedly between Tory Lanez and Kelsey Harris leaked online Thursday night, evidence that was vital in the conviction of the Toronto rapper.

Lanez purportedly made the call from the Hollywood Jail in Los Angeles after shooting Megan Thee Stallion in both feet in July 2020. While Lanez doesn’t acknowledge the shooting or firearm he used, during the five-minute conversation—which was shared by YouTuber Nique at Nite—he tells Harris he’s sorry for shooting Megan.

I can easily confirm that the audio floating around of Tory Lanez’s jail call to Kelsey, the gunshots, Kelsey’s interview with prosecutors etc are authentic. Court can release exhibits after trials, and that’s what happened here. I don’t have my own copies yet but will soon.

I met YouTuber Nique at Nite in court and really admired her gumption. She has the audio on her channel, including this of Tory’s jail call to Kelsey. This is what I always saw as being pretty bad evidence for Tory that his lawyer didn’t address much. https://t.co/p8KMpFzFMF

The call starts out with Lanez inquiring about what hospital Meg has been taken to, and then he tries to explain to Harris how inebriated he was that night. “I know she’s probably never ever gonna talk to me ever again but bruh, I just want you to know I was just so fucking drunk, I don’t even know what the fuck was going on, deadass,” Lanez says. “I’d never do some shit like that.”

“Regardless, that’s not gonna make anything right and that’s not gonna make my actions right, but I’m deeply sorry for that,” he adds. “I never even move like that at all. For real, for real, dawg.”

Harris acknowledges his apology, telling him, “I know. … It was a lot that happened.”

“A whole lot, bruh. I feel crazy, but what happened happened already; I can’t take it back. I’m just telling y’all I’m sorry, bruh. I think we were just too drunk,” Lanez continues. “When I got to the house, off top … they gave me like five shots, like off the door, you feel me? So I was outta there. … I don’t even remember what we was even arguing about.”

Lanez then asks Harris if she has his security guard and driver, Jaquan Smith’s contact info, and if she can, “just figure out what you gotta do to bail me out this shit.”

She says yes and lets him know that “the report is already out,” though no names have been revealed. He asks what she means, to which she says, “It’s on some app. You know, Megan’s team is on top of this.”

He replies, “If anything, the only n***a that’s gonna get this backlash is me. It’s not gonna be her.”

Before the call ends, he apologizes again: “Alright. It is what it is,” he says. “Regardless, if I get out of here today or not bro, I just want to let y’all know I’m sorry. I’d never did that shit if I wasn’t that drunk, you feel me?”

On Dec. 23, Lanez was found guilty of shooting Megan in both feet and was convicted on all three counts: felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm; possession of a concealed, unregistered firearm; and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. He could be incarcerated for up to 22 years and eight months and be deported back to Canada.
