Tragedy struck at Steve Aoki’s show in Madrid late last night, leaving three dead and two in critical condition. The America electro house DJ was headlining Thriller Music Park’s Halloween party when things got ugly. It’s details are still a little blurry, but allegedly someone set off a flare, causing the crowd to panic and stampede towards the exit. With only one exit open, supposedly, and a crowd that, while not sold out, was reportedly over-crowded, this created a bottleneck effect.
At least five concertgoers suffered “trauma by crushing, possibly having suffered a fall and being trampled.” Two victims were declared dead there, another passed away shortly after arriving at a hospital and two more are still in critical condition.
