Last night, the one and only Slick Rick celebrated his 50th birthday at the Brooklyn Bowl—eye-patch still intact. Among other guests present to honor the hip-hop legend and master of narrative was Nas, decked out in an abundance of gold chains, in prototypical Ricky Dee fashion. ("HAPPY BDAY SLICK RICK THE RULER!!!!!!!" he later posted on Instagram.) After presenting Rick with a massive, crown-shaped cake, the two excitedly performed "Children's Story," a classic from his 1988 album, The Great Adventures of Slick Rick. It was the ultimate #FBF for two hip-hop pioneers; check the video of their performance below.
