Superstar Pride Allegedly Threatened Barber's Grandmother With Gun After She Witnessed His Murder

The rapper allegedly chased his victim with a gun in her home.

Superstar Pride has been arrested in connection to the murder of his barber, and there are more details coming out regarding the grisly scene.

According to WREG-TV in Memphis, Mary Ann Strong—the grandmother of the deceased, Marcus Wheatley—spoke to the news outlet and revealed exclusive details to the outlet about her grandson's murder. 

Strong stated that Pride broke into the house and began chasing Wheatley around with a gun before he eventually fired at him and killed him. After the shooting, Pride allegedly turned the gun on her. 

"The young man was shooting at him and he finally shot him down," she said. "He fell here and he shot about three times after he fell and he walked over to me and he pointed the gun at me and asked me if I was going to tell it … And he came back out here and fired a last shot in his head."

According to HipHopDX, Superstar Pride is currently locked up at the Panola County Detention Center, where he's been since turning himself in on July 19. Pride was denied bond and will sit in the detention center until his next hearing.

Superstar Pride had been accused of killing 40-year-old Marcus Wheatley in his hometown of Panola County. Wheatley's body was discovered riddled with bullet holes at a home on Highway 35 North after the shooting was reported around 12:30 p.m. ET. 

The rapper was identified as a suspect, and a manhunt for his arrest went live soon after. Superstar Pride made it easy for law enforcement as he turned himself in shortly after.
