There may not be a better close for a very successful 2013 for DJ/producer Gianni Lee's Babylon Cartel lifestyle and fashion brand than releasing a set of three mixes from Dirty South Joe. When indie-to-mainstream tastemakers from different disciplines converge, the ideal situation allows for the impact of both in their respective fields to work as a cross-cosign of sorts - or, more simply game recognizing game.
Regarding the concept behind this mix, Joe, who has spent a decade of arguably being a defining pillar of the free-thinking late Generation X and Generation Y eras in independent and underground music, still feels the need to discover the points at which progressive culture must move ahead. In creating the mix, Joe's dislike of Year-End Lists, came into play and he stated the following:
