As Omar Apollo gears up to release his album Ivory, the singer just dropped off the project’s latest single titled “Tamagotchi,” and it was produced by Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo.

The bass-heavy single is also bar-heavy, with Omar opting to rap-sing his verses. The trio recorded the track during a trip to Miami last year, and it serves as the latest single to arrive off of Ivory, which is set to drop on April 8 and was previously teased by the singles “Killing Me,” “Go Away”, “Bad Life” featuring Kali Uchis and “Invincible” featuring Daniel Ceaser. The latter track was also given the visual treatment last month.

The album announcement comes as Omar gets ready to hit the road on his Desvelado Tour this spring. He’ll kick things off on April 5 in Portland before he heads off to Seattle, Sacramento, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix and other locations before jetting off to Europe in June, where the tour will wrap in London on June 16. The tour will also include two performances at Coachella.

Speaking to Apple Music on Wednesday, Omar opened up about the process behind Ivory, which had the solo artist collaborating with a lot more people than he was previously used to. He admitted it was ultimately hard for him to set boundaries at first.

“I was just compromising and it started not being my vision and I kinda had to be the bad guy and I didn’t like that pressure and I’m not a very confrontational person,” he said. “Now I am. But before naturally I’m just not.”
