Nycesound Production, a Canadian independent record label founded by Terry “T-Nyce” Opoku and Ty “Focus” Manning in 2020, has announced a partnership with Artium Records and Def Jam Recordings.

The Black-owned label currently rosters bubbling R&B and hip-hop artists like Mannie and Liyah Katana, and is focused on developing burgeoning artists across Canada.

“I am excited that I chose No I.D. as my partner in this venture because he is a living legend and a role model who can teach young brothers like me how to operate and navigate at the elite level,” the two explained in a press release. “What Nycesound Production brings to the game is simply anything that embodies artist development.”

“It made sense, everything was already done and ready to go,” said No I.D., producer and founder of ARTium Recordings.

T-Nyce has years of producing experience, having won beat battle championships in Atlanta twice and collaborating with artists like Sean Kingston, Belly, and Cardi B.

Focus has been managing artists since the late 2000s and met T-Nyce in 2016 and joined forces four years later after he presented Focus with a vision of developing local artists to push them to stardom.
