Donald Trump and Melania is planning to attend the Georgia vs. Alabama CFP National Championship in Atlanta, according to a USA Today report that cites two White House sources. There's a number of controversies that can come from his very presence at a major sporting event, but this one has the added wrinkle of Kendrick Lamar performing at halftime.

The Compton-based rapper is no fan of No. 45. In an interview with i-d published in October, Lamar reflected on Trump’s effect on the current political climate, saying, “We all are baffled...It is something that completely disregards our moral compass. It's just building up the fire in me. It builds the fire for me to keep pushing as hard as I want to push." Lamar’s performance will actually be taking place next to the stadium, though I’m sure the fire will be felt from next door. Twitter is definitely excited.

So Trump plans to attend the CFP championship and Kendrick is performing halftime? Oh this is gonna be good
when u realize that kendrick is gonna do the halftime show at the natty in front of trump
I'm so happy it's Kendrick performing at the CFB final that Trump is attending and not certain... other... artists

However, back in August, when Rolling Stone asked Lamar why he didn’t get explicitly political or mention Trump on his album Damn, the rapper said, "it's like beating a dead horse. We already know what it is. Are we gonna keep talking about it or are we gonna take action? You just get to a point where you're tired of talking about it."

We'll see if Kendrick is actually up for talking about it at the championship, which is on Jan. 8.
