Premiere: Azekel's Sensual Video For "Linger" Is Here

"There's a spiritual presence and other worldly closeness between a couple that transcends just the physical."

Not even a week since he shared the audio for new song "Linger", Azekel is back with the accompanying visuals for the electronic-tinged, jazz-licked R&B number. Having recently worked with Massive Attack on the haunting "Ritual Spirit", London boy Azekel is gearing up for the release of his Raw Vol. 2 project, which promises to have much more social commentary than his previous projects. "'Linger' is a song where I wanted to express the qualities of a relationship that are often invisible to everyone but the two people involved," he told Complex over email. "There's a spiritual presence and other worldly closeness between a couple that transcends just the physical. Gospel music became an influence on the presentation of this song, too—not necessarily in its musicality, but more in the way that it expresses faith in a way that is beyond the traditional."

The gripping video deals with love, loss, and intimacy, and director Shaun James Grant uses light and shadow to create a sense of comfort whilst simultaneously capturing a sense of vulnerability, fitting the song like a glove. Watch it above and expect Raw Vol. 2 some time in August.
