Pusha T put a local Virginia Beach nightclub on blast earlier this week when he Tweeted and Instagrammed claims that he was denied entry due to his skin color. The younger Thornton brother followed up in a new interview with Billboard published today and hinted that the incident was the most "blatant racism" he's encountered.

“The only reason that me and my friends didn't fit the mold was because we were Black,” he told the site.

Pusha posted that he overheard the owner of the club in question, Venue 112, whispering to a doorman to tell the Clipse rapper and his buddies that the club was a guest-list only affair.

"I wanted to tell people that I wasn't exempt from it either," he said. "People may think that I have it easier in some ways, but this shows that racism even overpowers business. I understand what other members of my community are going through."

The worst part? Judging from an outpouring of social media responses the issue wasn't an isolated one. “I'm literally typing about an imaginary ‘guest list,’ ” he said, “and [it turns out] this is a running theme! I had no idea.”

Check out Pusha's original call out below and read on to see what another Virginia Beach native, Pharrell, had to say about the business.

Pusha also pointed out that Venue 112's social media account, including that of the club's owner, have been set to private since the criticism. "How dare u lock your pages before addressing this issue with the community!!!!!" the rapper wrote in another post. "There are NUMEROUS examples of this treatment!!!!!"

Here's to hoping the high-profile call for a boycott spurs an apology if nothing else.
