It’s been a long time in the making, but two of South London rap’s finest—Youngs Teflon and Tiny Boost—have finally released their collaborative mixtape, Purple Hearts.
The pair have been allies and collaborators for some time now, but for the past couple of years, that bond seems to have tightened and they’ve been banging out at least a couple of hits every year. It’s a partnership that makes a lot of sense; both earned their stripes in UK rap’s formative years and have gone on to become leaders in the scene.
Neither Boost nor Tef are known for half measures, but this one feels particularly grand in scale. Production comes from a tight but trusted team that consists of LouisAura, SHbeats, Anae Beats, RXR, X10, Roddy Beatz, Hargo, R9, Knox Brown, and no less than Chase & Status. And the same goes for features, which include Potter Payper, Wretch 32 (twice!), Giggs and Miraa May,
