After the one-two punch of “OCD Riddim” parts one and two, Tiggs Da Author hasn’t wasted a moment in getting his new project, MOREFIRE II, over to us. As with its predecessor, and in Tiggs’ own words, “the mixtape is all about collaboration”.
Both “OCD Riddim” versions feature on the tape, and joining Rimzee, Blade Brown and Wretch 32, he’s once again dug deep into his staggering list of contacts in the rap world, including verses from Potter Payper, M Huncho, Leicester’s Sainté, WSTRN’s Louis Rei, and Sam Wise.
But there’s more to this tape than the rap-soul fusions Tiggs is so adept at; this time round, he’s incorporated artists from multiple genres in multiple countries. Ghanaian star M.anifest makes a stellar appearance on “Say Less Riddim” and continuing that theme, he’s got Ghanaian-American singer Moliy to add some impossibly delicate vocals to “5am Riddim”. Elsewhere, Eritrea-born vocalist RIMON adds a silky finish to the bouncy “Fendi Riddim”, and East London singer Dyo who adds a late-night neo-soul edge to closer “Tru Riddim”.
As for the riddims themselves, Tiggs has kept it to a slightly smaller team of trusted producers that includes Eyes, PB, TSB, Show N Prove, Samuel Kareem Baptist, Harri Jay, Turkish Dcypha, Cadenza, and a show-stopping appearance from the Voice of the Streets, 1Xtra DJ Kenny Allstar.
