Late last year, South London’s Strandz turned a lot of heads with his single “Us Against The World”. With its allusions to Bonnie & Clyde, inspired use of a pitched-up Smokey Robinson sample and punchy drum patterns, it called to mind classic G-Unit and 2000s soulful rap, but with a distinctly UK twist. More than anything, it felt like a breath of fresh air in the rap scene and proved a hit pretty much across the board.

Keen to keep the momentum going, Strandz has partnered with Digga D for this new remix. The beat, which Strandz co-produced with Blueboy, has been left intact, but Digga handles the second verse, stepping in with some fittingly laid-back, cool-handed rhymes about taking the focus of his affections to somewhere hot and, most importantly, far away from here.

It also comes with a fresh new video from Alpha Bravo Studios. Where the original video had more of a ‘young couple eloping with nothing but each other’, this new version takes a different path, placing Strandz and his girl in a swanky cocktail bar with shots of the young rhymer in the booth peppered in for good measure.

Peep the new video above and be sure to add the “Us Against The World” remix to your playlists.
