For the past year or so, Steel Banglez had been a little quiet on the music front. After the passing of his good friend Sidhu Moose Wala, the producer understandably took a little time out of the limelight. He returned last month with “Mera Na”, the third posthumous release from Wala that also served as Banglez’s tribute to his late friend.

Soon after, Steel Banglez officially announced that the track was also the first cut to be heard from his impending debut album and with it the enormous list of featured artists he’d recruited for the 27-tracker. In all, there are nearly 40 artists that feature on the album, including Burna Boy, Mist, Nines, Giggs, Ghetts, Blade Brown, Chip, Squeeks, Rimzee, Morrisson, Unknown T, Not3s, Blanco, Ms Banks, BackRoad Gee, MoStack, Tion Wayne, Kwengface, D Double E, BERWYN, Maverick Sabre, and many more.

It’s an expansive collection and, fittingly for a debut album at this stage in his long and storied career, Steel Banglez has pulled together as many of the different sounds he’s explored in his career as possible. From grime and garage to drill, rap, Afroswing, and his own Punjabi heritage, of course, it’s all stitched into the album to create an autobiographical tome that’s about as comprehensive as is possible for someone with so many years in the game.
