British-Punjabi artist Raf-Saperra has dropped a new EP, 5 Deadly Venomz, that bonds the sounds of London, New York, and his Punjabi heritage.

Alongside Diet Paratha, Navinder Nagla, and Yung Singh, Raf is one of a growing movement of Punjabi artists, DJs and producers championing the region’s sounds and exerting its influence of rap, dance music and street culture as a whole. On 5 Deadly Venomz, that infusion manifests in a finished product that lets his Punjabi influences dictate the flow and feel of the record, instead of trying to fit in and sacrifice the spirit of the sound.

That New York element comes from an impressive cast of characters, including Griselda legend Conway The Machine, Dave East, and Albanian-American rhymer Big Body Bes.

Much of the production comes from Taj Aulakh, apart from “Hood Harvest” and “Venomz Boliyan”, both produced by Bobby Kang. Check out 5 Deadly Venomz after the jump.
