Synth-pop duo and recent Atlantic signees, The Bliss are today dropping the visuals for their latest single, "Happier". Clearly passionate and knowledgable fans of classic cinema, the West Webb-directed video makes reference, they tell us, to a 1963 surrealist comedy drama by Italian director Federico Fellini called 8 1/2. The song itself is a snappy piece of pop music bursting with energy and cool. Together, the mix of Chelsea 'TYSM' Davenport's sugary vocals and the laid back cool of Felix Snow's singing make for a winning contrast that could take these two high up the charts.
Speaking with Complex via email Chelsea told us: "I have bad dreams very frequently about past pain I've gone through with betrayal with an ex. I also have dreams in a similar setting occurring with Felix or my ex morphing into Felix and there I am in the same situation again. I think this video and the song itself reminds me of a beautiful bad dream in the best way possible. My bad dreams keep me grateful for how beautiful my reality is. The video couldn't have come out better."
Felix added: "Even though I thoroughly hate going to LA, working with West made it a heckuva time. Miming my solo with that black television in the rain room was an experience I will never forget."
The Bliss have also opened the song up for a remix competition. Budding producers apply here by June 10.
