For the past seven years Danish artist Rasmus Littauer has been touring the world as the musical director and drummer for MØ and since 2017 has been releasing his own music under the moniker School Of X. The name, he explains, was inspired by Eks-skolen — an anti-establishment art collective that emerged in 1960s Copenhagen.

With a handful of singles and EPs under his belt, Littauer is now gearing up for the release of his debut album Armlock (due May 29 via Tambourhinoceros) and today he's dropping off the project's lead single "Bad Love". A snappy, shimmering piece of indie pop, "Bad Love" puts Littauer's dreamy vocals front and centre as he (very appropriately) sings about feeling isolated in a relationship that's coming to an end.

Speaking with Complex via email, Littauer told us: "It's about feeling alone in a relationship, having lost faith or trust, about how much the relationship suddenly matters when it's slipping through your fingers. But that's how love is — it comes and goes and we all have to put up a constant fight to save it and bring it back."

The surreal and somewhat sinister visuals come from director Frederik Valentin and we're created just as the lockdown was coming into effect in Denmark.

Explaining the visuals, Littauer adds: "Frederik has been a vital part of the visual side of School Of X since the beginning. I admire his creativity and always have for the 10 years we have known each other. We wanted to capture duality, danger and love with this video. It was a tough process because of COVID-19. We couldn't really meet except for outside and inside we were always 3-4 meters apart. We feel we succeeded, and under the circumstances I think this video makes the experience of Bad Love even more powerful."
