Back in January, two years after their platinum selling debut album, Aussie trio RÜFÜS returned with follow up record, Bloom, an album that demonstrates above all the band's maturation since their first foray into the album world. According to the band, they wanted to experiment with structure a bit more and to explore the idea of contrast in their arrangements. "You don't want everything to sound big," Hunt explained. "If something goes down to almost nothing it makes the high points sound 20 times higher. And if you over-think something it can kill the spark sometimes."
Now, six months later, the band are about to release a remix package for album highlight "Be With You", including efforts from Booka Shade, Stereogamous, Sondrio and Liverpudlian DJ and producer Friend Within, whose remix can be heard exclusively below. The original's relaxed warmth is transformed into something more mechanical and driving, though it stops short of fully delving into techno. The heat and funk of "Be With You" still courses through its veins but the urgency Friend Within brings is invaluable.
