Next Friday (October 20), UK house maestro Nic Fanciulli will release his new album My Heart. The collab-heavy album promises 12 tracks of varied dance music alongside some more laid-back electronics not necessarily intended for a club setting. Ten years in the making, My Heart follows a recent remix Fanciulli made for Gorillaz. In exchange for that remix, it seems, was a feature from Gorillaz frontman himself Damon Albarn on album cut "Saying", which Complex is exclusively premiering today.
A relatively mellow cut, "Saying" is built around twinkling synths and, from around the 1:40 mark, Albarn's vocals, but beneath that the track is driven forward by a gentle rhythm that builds gradually into a percussive crescendo. From what we've heard so far, expect an album with a lot of focus on songwriting and some guest spots from Jamie Principle, Eagles & Butterflies, Guy Gerber, Audion and more.
Catch Nic Fanciulli at either of his album launch shows:
Friday, December 8 - Art Basel @ Heart, Miami w/ Agoria, Audion, and Eagles & Butterflies.
Friday, January 26 - Village Underground, London
