It’s a slightly slower one, bringing out a more commanding, swaggering flow from the pair, but still as rowdy and energetic as anything else around.

If you follow Kwengface on Instagram, then you’ll know that he was over in New York late last year, connecting with the locals and clearly working on something. Today, we get to see at least some of the fruits from that trip as the UK drill star shares new single “Step Out”—a collab with Brooklyn driller Dusty Locane.

Produced by London’s Gotcha, “Step Out” is a slightly slower one than we’re used to from the two rappers—bringing out a more commanding, swaggering flow from the pair—but it’s still as rowdy and energetic as anything else around. Not only that, but while he was out there, Kwengface had Hundo and LISPhotography capture a load of behind-the-scenes and tour diary footage from the recording session and his time in the city.

“What I like most about ‘Step Out’ is that it happened in a really authentic way,” Kwengface tells us. “I met Dusty, we clicked straight away, and then the next day we got in the booth. I did have a feeling we might connect so I started writing a few bars beforehand, but I left some space for him and he filled it out nicely. We bounced off each other’s energy so well, and the track shows the contrast in nationalities, whilst still showing that UK drill and US drill are in-sync and can complement each other.”
