It's only a matter of time until Kwaku Asante becomes a household name. For the past two years, Asante has been consistently dropping off high end slices of soul and R&B. With just five singles under his belt, anticipation for a longer project from Asante is high. Thankfully, Asante today arrives with news that we'll be getting just that with his debut EP, Honeycomb, dropping at the end of November.
With that news comes the project's first single, "Molasses", a funk-filled voyage filled with a groove-soaked bass line that's impossible not to shake a leg to. Just as you become enamored with the instrumentation, his scorching vocals sear through the mix and instantly steal the show. Usually, it's wise to encourage an artist to take their time before releasing an EP or an album, but in the case of Kwaku Asante, he was born ready.
