Jordan Mackampa’s got a new album on the way—Welcome Home, Kid!—and today he unveils its fourth single, “BLACCJACK THE MAC”.

The new track follows the three extracts he shared in the second half of last year—“Proud Of You”, “I’ve Found My Home In You”, and “Mary”—and this is by far the most upbeat of the bunch.

Recorded in LA, you can practically hear the West Coast sunshine beating through the track. A certified mood-booster, it pulses with funk and disco licks—no doubt also at least in part down to the contributions of production outfit The Orphanage who’ve lent their talents to the likes of Lizzo and Kehlani in the past.

An energising antidote to the subzero temperatures and January blues, the new track continues to make good on the promise that this new album will return to his R&B, funk and soul roots.

“BLACCJACK THE MAC” is lifted from Mackampa’s forthcoming album, Welcome Home, Kid!, which is due February 16 via AWAL.
