Hervé 'Boy Racer' EP

Having established a name for himself at the height of the blog house era with his bass-driven electro bounce, Hervé (aka The Count Of Monte Cristal) has since spent his career exploring a range of subsets within the house music spectrum. His latest offering is the Boy Racer EP (due July 27 via his own Cheap Thrills), from which this new cut, "Destiny", is taken. Driven forward by some gnarly, old school breaks and an uplifting piano line, the focal point of the track is the euphoric, dreamy vocals that burst out of the speakers at the track's apex. As for the rest of the three-track EP, expect even more golden age rave sounds and plenty of bounce to keep the feet moving frantically.

"The 'Boy Racer' EP was inspired by my early raving years and my raving 'boy racer' mates in Essex," Hervé explained to Complex via email. "I wanted to do a series of EPs capturing the exuberance and energy of the time, but filtered through my more modern production. 'Destiny' was originally a house record, but it lacked a certain something. I went back and reworked it in more contemporary style but incorporating some uplifting/deeper and rave elements."
