It’s been a little over a year since we last heard from him, but singer/songwriter/producer Fredwave is back with the video for his new single, “LA LA”, along with the promise of a lot more to come.
Living up to his reputation as a musician that doesn’t quite fit into any one category, “LA LA” pulls from a few different influences. There’s the D&B rhythm section contrasting against the more delicate melodies, and Fred’s voice is gentle and breathy but scored with an urgency that ties back to the tightly-wound instrumental.
That urgency that he packs into the track, he explains, is central to the whole thing: “‘LA LA’ is a song about the inevitable, everything good must come to an end! 2 hounds on the loose, with nothing to lose.”
