Premiere: Deema And Bawo Are Living For Today In “UK Synth” Video

This is the third single to be lifted from Deema’s forthcoming nine-track mixtape, ‘Dog With A £’, which is due to arrive in August.

Last week, two of rap’s most exciting and distinctive voices, Deema and Bawo linked up for a new single, “UK Synth”. It’s an adventurous meeting of minds from two inventive rhymers approaching rap from contrasting musical backgrounds.

Peckham-raised Deema came up as an integral member of The Square. Since then, his sound has since evolved into a more an energetic yet breezy brand of rap. Meanwhile, West London-raised Bawo’s delivery is soulful, even meditative at times, and the beats he draws for are just as varied, ranging from snappy garage and tightly-wound rap to abstract, even ambient electronica.

Those disparate approaches fit together well, though. Dom Valentino’s production sits somewhere in between their respective styles. Giving them both enough space to be themselves, Dom manages to play to both Deema’s energy and Bawo’s cool-headed presence effectively.

Equally, the new video plays to those contrasts just as well. Zipping between rooftop shots, scenes of Deema hanging out of a car window and various other London spots, it captures both the energy and the seize-the-day mentality of the track.

Speaking on the video, Deema shares: ‘The director Ed Peacock did a sick job with this one, I do my own stunts! Big love to my guy Bawo.. Dog With A £ coming soon!"

This is the third single is set to appear on Deema’s forthcoming nine-track mixtape, Dog With A £, which is due to arrive in August. In the meantime, hit play on the new video at the top and then add “UK Synth” to your playlists.
