Roughly six months on from his most recent project, the collab-heavy Thanks For Waiting, Potter Payper returns with one more surprise collab—a guest verse from Church Road rapper Nines on the soulful “Gangsteritus Part 2”, the original of which soundtracked the dramatic climax of the final episode in Top Boy’s most recent season.
The Nines verse is a particularly welcome treat, not just because he’s returned home from a bid behind bars, but also because it wasn’t that long ago that he was telling JD Sports’ In The Duffle Bag podcast about his plans for retirement. Whether or not those plans, which would see him call it a day after one more album, are still in place remains to be seen, but it’s good to hear more from him if he is about to draw a line under his rap career.
