Burial Returns With Two New Tracks, “Dreamfear” & “Boy Sent From Above”

On New Year’s Day this year, XL Recordings posted a cryptic clip to their Instagram page that offered little more than two seconds of breakbeats accompanied by the Burial logo embedded in some fuzzy distortion. There was no caption or explainer, but we knew what time it was: the mysterious producer was about to release something new.

That day has now arrived. Burial has just released two new tracks, “Dreamfear” and “Boy Sent From Above”. The former mixes high-intensity rave euphoria with misty ambient fuzz, while the latter sets chrome-covered ‘80s synths against more industrial techno sounds, and they both exceed the 12-minute mark.

Both tracks are now on Spotify with the promise of a 12” vinyl release date of February 9 (which you can pre-order now).
