The fall of 2013 found both Dada Life and Steve Aoki officially breaking Guinness World Records. While they're pretty odd feats (largest pillow fight, longest cheer, and most glowsticks), these DJs still have their names in the record books. While sales records are cool, the next hotshot could come in and sweep your piece of history under the rug with a random viral campaign. All of this got us wondering, though: what OTHER world records should these DJs try to break? Which DJs will step up to the plate and get their plaques in the new year?

Longest DJ set

Potential Record Breaker(s): DJ Marky, Tiesto

As of their official website, Australia's Smokin' Joe Mekhael currently holds the record for "longst marathon club DJ-ing" at 168 hours. Not saying they'd WANT to do it, but we've seen DJ Marky get booked for Room 1 of his "Marky & Friends" night by himself, mixing six hours of music for hungry crowds. That'd mean (roughly) 28 days of mixing, but Marky's crates should be deep enough to cover that... right?

Longest remix

Potential Record Breaker(s): DJ Spooky

We've heard some long, drawn-out remixes, but we have a feeling that someone like DJ Spooky, who has no problem putitng 12-minute original songs on his albums, could get into some deep theory about life, space, and sample-based music and churn out a remix that's longer than the Godfather series.

Most Twitter beefs

Potential Record Breaker(s): deadmau5

About once a month (or week, sometimes), our emails and social media accounts get blown up with the juciest details about deadmau5's latest quarrel on Twitter. Over the past few years he has had it out with numerous personalities, from Madonna to Afrojack, not to mention innumerable shit talking sessions with his many followers. If the man really put his mind to it, there is no doubt that that record would be his... once he got it OK'ed by Azealia Banks, that is.

Longest Twitter rant

Potential Record Breaker(s): deadmau5

As if there's any doubt.

Longest distance of cake throwing

Potential Record Breaker(s): Steve Aoki

Aoki could add a third record to his mantle place; we've seen him reportedly hit a wheelchair-bound fan with a cake thrown from 80 feet away; how is this not already in the book?!

Most gig performances in 24 hours

Potential Record Breaker(s): Diplo

Most of the top dance music DJs are performing fairly regularly, but how many DJs took a helicopter and performed in four different cities in one night? We imagine Diplo could figure out how to sort out how to do this on a grand scale.

Most shows in a year

Potential Record Breaker(s): Skrillex

In 2011, word is that Skrillex performed an astonishing 322 shows in that calendar year. While he has his hands in many pots, we imagine Skrillex could possibly break that and set a proper record. We might not recommend it, but he could do it.

Most amount of time spent on the microphone in one show

Potential Record Breaker(s): DJ Chuckie, DJ Kidd Luke

Uncle Ben once told a young Peter Parker, "with great power, comes great responsibilty." Few people better understand the gravity of that statement better than DJs and their audiences when it comes to using the microphone. When utilized in careful and well thought-out moderation, the microphone is capable of creating a vital connection between DJ and crowd. When misused it can become an infernal instrument of torture and can ruin what would otherwise have been a great show. While we aren't here to pass out judgement, our money for the record of DJ with the biggest fraction of set time spent talking on the microphone has got to be on DJ Chuckie. Listen/watch any of his sets and we are sure you will agree. DJ Kidd Luke might have something to say about that, however...

Most collaborations in a year

Potential Record Breaker(s): Diplo

With his schedule, we imagine Diplo doesn't have a lot of time to sit down and craft a record from start to finish. We've read numerous articles about his process, about how he can come in and "fix" tracks, bringing out their potential, then having others clean them up. Over the last few years, as his DJ career and other commitments have increased, we've seen more collaborative efforts coming from his studio. He might end up getting SO busy that his entire discography will end up being collabos. Dope collabos, but collabos nonetheless.

Most champagne bottles used during a performance

Potential Record Breaker(s): Dada Life, DJ Pauly D

Pretty self-explanatory.
