Jay-Z saying that no one could face him in a Verzuz battle earlier this week on Twitter Spaces has ruffled a few feathers, with artists popping up arguing that they think they could hold their own against Hov.
One such artist is Future, who reposted a message of someone saying that everyone in Atlanta thinks that Hendrix would beat Hov in the hit battle.
“I Promise You, Errbody from Atlanta Feels Like Pluto Can Win A Verzuz Against Hov,” podcaster and ATL personality Big Bank DTE said on Instagram, which Future cosigned and reposted to his IG story.
Ever since Hov dropped a line about Future on 4:44, it feels like the Atlanta artist has been throwing subtle jabs at the rap legend.
About a week ago, Future compared himself to Jay, tweeting that he believes that he’s the bigger “in the streets.”
“In the streets im bigger then jigga,” he wrote. “Ima run me a B up easy.”
He followed that with a series of other tweets talking about how he thinks he’s the only artist who could bring Ye on stage with him after West joined him during his set at Rolling Loud California.
Aside from Future, Lil Jon also said that Busta Rhymes would “smoke” Hov in a Verzuz battle. “Busta will smoke Jay-Z,” Jon wrote in the comments section of a post about Jay’s comments.
As you might expect, Hov has yet to respond.
